43.16.أَمِ اتَّخَذَ مِمَّا يَخْلُقُ بَنَاتٍ وَأَصْفَاكُم بِالْبَنِينَ
43.16. Dieu se serait-Il attribué des filles parmi Ses créatures en vous accordant par préférence des garçons ?
43.16 . Or chooseth He daughters of all that He hath created , and honoureth He you with sons?
43.16. Ami ittakhatha mimma yakhluqu banatin waasfakum bialbaneena
43.17.وَإِذَا بُشِّرَ أَحَدُهُم بِمَا ضَرَبَ لِلرَّحْمَنِ مَثَلاً ظَلَّ وَجْهُهُ مُسْوَدّاً وَهُوَ كَظِيمٌ
43.17. Lorsqu'on annonce à l'un d'eux la naissance d'un enfant du sexe qu'il attribue au Miséricordieux, il passe toute sa journée le visage sombre et le cœur serré :
43.17 . And if one of them hath tidings of that which he likeneth to the Beneficent One , his countenance becometh black and he is full of inward rage .
43.17. Wa-itha bushshira ahaduhum bima daraba lilrrahmani mathalan thalla wajhuhu muswaddan wahuwa katheemun
43.18.أَوَمَن يُنَشَّأُ فِي الْحِلْيَةِ وَهُوَ فِي الْخِصَامِ غَيْرُ مُبِينٍ
43.18. «Quoi ! Engendrer un être qui sera élevé dans les colifichets et qui ne pourra même pas dans une dispute se défendre par des arguments clairs et précis !»
43.18 . ( Liken they then to Allah ) that which is bred up in outward show , and in dispute cannot make itself plain?
43.18. Awaman yunashshao fee alhilyati wahuwa fee alkhisami ghayru mubeenin
43.19.وَجَعَلُوا الْمَلَائِكَةَ الَّذِينَ هُمْ عِبَادُ الرَّحْمَنِ إِنَاثاً أَشَهِدُوا خَلْقَهُمْ سَتُكْتَبُ شَهَادَتُهُمْ وَيُسْأَلُونَ
43.19. Et ils firent des anges, qui sont les serviteurs du Miséricordieux, des êtres féminins. Étaient-ils témoins de leur création? Leur témoignage sera consigné et ils auront à en répondre.
43.19 . And they make the angels , who are the slaves of the Beneficent , females . Did they witness their creation? Their testimony will be recorded and they will be questioned .
43.19. WajaAAaloo almala-ikata allatheena hum AAibadu alrrahmani inathan ashahidoo khalqahum satuktabu shahadatuhum wayus-aloona
43.20.وَقَالُوا لَوْ شَاء الرَّحْمَنُ مَا عَبَدْنَاهُم مَّا لَهُم بِذَلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَخْرُصُونَ
43.20. Ils ont dit également : «Si le Miséricordieux l'avait voulu, nous n'aurions pas adoré ces idoles.» Qu'en savent-ils, au juste? Ce ne sont là que des affirmations gratuites.
43.20 . And they say : If the Beneficent One had ( so ) willed , we should not have worshipped them . They have no knowledge whatsoever of that . They do but guess .
43.20. Waqaloo law shaa alrrahmanu ma AAabadnahum ma lahum bithalika min AAilmin in hum illa yakhrusoona
